Band
Yard Act
Biography
Yard Act is a British post-punk band formed in 2019 in Leeds. They combine angular post-punk rhythms and James Smith's sharp spoken-sung delivery, full of ironic social observation. Their debut album, The Overload (2022), earned them immediate recognition and a Mercury Prize nomination. Their biting humour and danceable groove make them one of the freshest propositions in British post-punk.
