Purkas was born in 2005, driven by a crew of around twenty enthusiasts — writers, photographers, roadies and helping hands — set on keeping rock, metal, punk and hardcore alive their own way.
Beyond the webzine, Purkas put bands on stage. We booked and hosted Comeback Kid, Madball and many more, at venues like le Bateau Phare in Paris and other stages in the capital and beyond.
After a long break, Purkas is back in 2026 — same standards, new means: every release, the gig calendar, and reviews that take a stand, built on critical consensus.
