Venerea

Biography

Venerea is a Swedish skate punk band from Falkenberg. The founding members are Daniel "Dana" Johansson (bass), Johan "Bengan" Bengtsson (vocals, guitar), Mattias "Talle" Toldbod (drums) and Stefan Stenslund (guitar). Among their early tracks are several punk covers from the 1980s, for example from Bad Religion and the Ramones, as well as some metal covers that persist even on their future albums (for example Black Wind, Fire and Steel, taken from Shake Your Swollen Booty). In 1991, Stefan left the band to focus on metal and Mikael "Mike" Persson joined the group as the new vocalist and bassist; Dana switched to guitar. In 1992 and 1993, they recorded their first demos, at that time under the name Venereal Disease; Dana and Mike already wrote the lyrics for the songs, which would not change.
