Trepalium

Biography

Trepalium was a French metal band formed in the early 2000s in the Deux-Sèvres region. The group played a groove oriented death metal, notable for weaving swing, jazz and funk rhythms into aggressive riffing. This mix gave the band a distinctive identity within the French extreme metal scene. Its debut album Through the Absurd arrived in 2004, followed by Alchemik Clockwork of Disorder (2006) and then XIII. The 2012 release H.N.P. further developed their rhythmic, dance influenced approach to death metal. Damballa's Voodoo Doll appeared in 2015. Fronted for many years by a vocalist known as KK, the band toured across Europe and worked with the label Season of Mist before announcing its split in 2024.
