Svalbard is a British band formed in 2011 in Bristol. They combine post-hardcore, atmospheric black metal and post-rock, with feminist, committed lyrics carried by Serena Cherry. Albums like When I Die, Will I Get Better? and The Weight of the Mask earned them growing critical recognition. Their fusion of intensity and melodic beauty, in service of a militant message, makes them a striking band.
