Sunn O)))

Biography

Sunn O))) is an American drone metal band formed in 1998 in Seattle by Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson. Reducing metal to its raw material, massive, endless guitar drones, they offer a physical, almost meditative music. Albums like Black One and Monoliths & Dimensions make them a reference of the metal avant-garde. Their concerts in hooded robes, drowned in fog and volume, amount to a sonic ritual.
