Static-X
Biography
Founded in 1994 in Los Angeles, California, Static-X defined a punchy industrial metal they liked to describe as evil disco. Led by the charismatic Wayne Static, recognizable by his signature vertical hair, they combined mechanical riffs, danceable rhythms and aggressive vocals. Their debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip, released in 1999, was a strong success and contained several tracks that became emblematic of the scene of that era. The band established itself as a reliable name in accessible industrial metal. The death of Wayne Static in 2014 was a heavy blow to the group and its fans. Static-X later returned to the road to honor his memory and extend a striking legacy.
