Spiritual Front

Biography

Spiritual Front is an Italian electronic music group. Spiritual Front is a solo project by Simone Salvatori. Among their early albums, Songs for the Will (Old Europa Cafe/Misty Circles, 1999) and Nihilist Cocktails for Calypso Inferno (Oktagön/Misty Circles, 2001), were acclaimed by critics and audiences from the start, with sounds at the border of apocalyptic folk and esoteric-industrial inspiration. In 2001/2002, the vinyl records No Kisses on the Mouth and Nihilist with English altoist Matt Howden display increasingly dark and intense sounds, close to a certain obscure writing similar to the style of Nick Cave, Swans and Scott Walker (names to which Spiritual Front is often compared).
