*shels

Biography

*shels is a British rock band from London, England. Formed by Mehdi Safa (Mahumodo), the group continuously changes its line-up according to the desires and musicians present; it would therefore be more accurate to speak of a *shels community around which many other bands gravitate (Latitudes, Kopek, Parliament of Owls) to which are added the bands of origin of the members composing the group. The band was formed in 2003 by guitarist and singer Mehdi Safa and drummer Tim Harriman, following the separation of their original band, Mahumodo. The band takes its name from Mahumodo's 1999 EP, titled Shels. They released their first EP, Wingsfortheirsmiles, in 2004 under the label created in 2002 by Mehdi Safa, Shelsmusic. The band released its first studio album three years later, on 18 June 2007, Sea of the Dying Dhow.
