Seether
Biography
Seether is a South African rock band formed in Pretoria in 1999, led by singer and guitarist Shaun Morgan. Initially named Saron Gas, the group adopted the name Seether before breaking onto the international scene in the early 2000s with a dark post-grunge tinged with alternative metal. Their debut album, Disclaimer, was followed by Karma and Effect, Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces, Isolate and Medicate and Poison the Parish, among others. The rendition of Broken as a duet with Evanescence's Amy Lee left a lasting mark on their career. Driven by introspective lyrics and hard-hitting choruses, their songs enjoyed steady radio success, making the band a reliable fixture of 2000s and 2010s rock.
