Biography

Queens of the Stone Age is an American rock band formed in 1996 in Palm Desert, California, by guitarist Josh Homme. An heir to Kyuss's stoner rock, they refined the formula into a hypnotic, groove-driven, riff-built sound. The album Songs for the Deaf (2002) made them a benchmark, confirmed by Rated R, Lullabies to Paralyze and …Like Clockwork. Their irresistible groove and the ever-shifting cast around Homme define their singularity.
