Porn

Biography

Pure Obsessions & Red Nights (also known as Porn until 2021) is a French darkwave and industrial rock band from Lyon, in Rhône-Alpes. In 1999, Philippe Deschemin, then a psychology and sociology student in Grenoble, decided to create his own music group, heavily influenced by The Cure, Bauhaus and Nine Inch Nails. The band's first concert took place in late 1999 in Marseille (L'Incassable celluloïde). The group recorded its first demo in 2000 with the tracks Soft Machine, Porn Machine, Recycle and Still. The sound was already influenced by Nine Inch Nails. Francis Zegut, who discovered and supported bands such as Venom and Metallica in France, spotted the group and broadcast the track Soft Machine, Porn Machine on RTL2 for the very first time in 2000.
