Pleymo
Biography
Pleymo formed in 1996 in the Paris region and became one of the flagship bands of French nu metal. Led by singer Marc Maggiori, the quintet relies on syncopated riffs, catchy melodies and lyrics sung mostly in French, which sets it apart from many bands on the scene. Success came with the album Keckispasse at the turn of the 2000s, followed by Episode 2 Medicine Cake and then Rock. The band strung together concerts, festivals and notable appearances, helping to popularize the genre among young French audiences. After splitting up during the 2000s, Pleymo later reformed for new shows. The group remains a significant reference in the history of alternative metal in France.
