Limp Bizkit
Biography
Formed in 1994 in Jacksonville, Florida, Limp Bizkit embodied the commercial explosion of nu metal at the turn of the 2000s. Built around frontman Fred Durst and the theatrically inventive guitarist Wes Borland, the band fused rap, abrasive riffs and hip-hop energy into a deliberately provocative sound. After a first record, Three Dollar Bill, Y'all, it was Significant Other that broke them through, before Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water reached staggering sales. Adored by a huge audience and mocked by part of the press, they became one of the symbols of an entire era. Despite breakups and reunions, Limp Bizkit remain an unavoidable reference point of the genre.
