GG Allin

Biography

GG Allin, whose real name was Kevin Michael Allin, born Jesus Christ Allin in Lancaster, New Hampshire, on August 29, 1956 and died in New York on June 28, 1993, was an American hardcore punk singer. He is known for his stage performances that included transgressive actions such as Allin defecating on stage, self-mutilating, singing nude, challenging people to perform fellatio on him, and multiple acts of violence toward the audience. Although more renowned for his stagecraft than for his musical output, he recorded prolifically with several bands, not only hardcore but also spoken word, country, as well as a type of rock inspired by the Rolling Stones. He was born on August 29, 1956 at Weeks' Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, New Hampshire. This prophetic name was given to him because his father Merle Allin, Sr.
