Forbidden Site

Biography

Forbidden Site is a French avant-garde black metal band from Grenoble, in the Rhône-Alpes region. During its existence, Forbidden Site shared the stage with, among others, bands such as Cradle of Filth, Misanthrope, Dimmu Borgir, Loudblast, Anorexia Nervosa, CNK, Serenity, Siebenbürgen, The Gathering, and Hades. The band's two founders, Arnault Destal (alias Staël) and Romaric Sangars (alias Romarik d'Arvycendres), now work in two rock-oriented projects, respectively Varsovie and Khôl, alongside literary careers. Forbidden Site is considered by the specialized press as a cult band. The work Camion Blanc: Anthology of Black Metal Volume 1 explains that "in its crude forms, Forbidden Site executes a most conventional black metal... until it enters with vice the rather vague domain of gothic metal." Forbidden Site was formed in 1993 in Grenoble, in the Rhône-Alpes region.
