Eisbrecher
Biography
Eisbrecher is a Neue Deutsche Härte and industrial metal band from Germany, originating from Fürstenfeldbruck. It was formed in 2002 by Alexx Wesselsky (vocals) and Noel Pix (lead guitar/programming), two former members of Megaherz, a band that had already achieved considerable success in Germany and the United States by that time. After his departure from Megaherz in 2003 due to creative differences, Wesselsky joined forces with Noel Pix, who took on the roles of keyboardist, guitarist, and programmer on the albums Kopfschuss and Himmelfahrt. In January 2004, the band released its first self-titled album, Eisbrecher. The first 5,000 copies included a blank CD accompanied by permission to legally record the songs. The band did this as a protest against what it considered the "criminalization" of fans.
