Al año siguiente, Further Seems Forever, con Chris Carrabba, graba y publica su primer álbum, The Moon is Down. Carrabba abandona la banda poco después para grabar su segundo álbum solista, The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, y un EP, So Impossible, ambos lanzados bajo el nombre de Dashboard Confessional.
