Biography

Leather is a material prepared from the skin of an animal, mainly used in clothing and decoration in a wide variety of forms. It is generally the skin of large mammals such as cattle and pigs, treated industrially by tanneries and leather mills, primarily to ensure its preservation even in the presence of high humidity. There are different types of leather, depending on their appearance, their manufacturing and the origin of the skin. Vegetable leathers, called organic leathers or eco-leathers, are making their appearance on the textile industry market. Leathers are most often prepared from the hides of cattle; equines (cordovan); ovines; caprines; cervines; porcines; but also from the hides of peccaries, ostriches, reptiles (crocodiles, lizards)...
