Breaking Benjamin
Biography
Breaking Benjamin is a rock band formed in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, in 1999, around singer and guitarist Benjamin Burnley. The group works in a style blending post-grunge and alternative metal, with dark melodies and powerful choruses. After a debut album, Saturate, in 2002, the band broke through with We Are Not Alone in 2004, then Phobia in 2006, which included the hit The Diary of Jane. Dear Agony, in 2009, confirmed their standing. After a pause tied to Burnley's health problems, the group returned with Dark Before Dawn in 2015, followed by Ember and Aurora. Recognizable for its dense, introspective atmospheres, Breaking Benjamin ranks among the notable bands of American rock in the 2000s.
