Annihilator

Biography

Annihilator is a Canadian thrash metal band founded in 1984 in Ottawa by guitarist Jeff Waters, the true brain and soul of the project. Renowned for his virtuosity and sharp sense of composition, Waters has led the band through countless lineup changes, remaining its only permanent member. The debut Alice in Hell (1989) was hailed at once as a technical thrash masterpiece, followed by Never Neverland (1990), which confirmed the band melodic finesse. More popular in Europe than in its home country, Annihilator built a prolific discography marked by the precision of its riffs and solos. Waters remains one of the most respected figures in thrash guitar anywhere in the world, a musician other players study closely.
