Abbath

Biography

Olve Eikemo (born June 27, 1973 in Bergen, Norway), better known by his stage name Abbath Doom Occulta or simply Abbath, is a Norwegian composer, singer and guitarist, and one of the founding members of the renowned black metal band Immortal. Before creating Immortal, Abbath was bassist for one of the first bands in Bergen's extreme metal scene, Old Funeral, alongside future Immortal members Demonaz and Jørn Inge Tunsberg, Varg Vikernes of Burzum, and Tore Bratseth of The Batallion (though they were not all in the band at the same time). While still participating in Old Funeral, Abbath also joined Demonaz's band Amputation, which would later become Immortal. He also plays bass for Demonaz's new project. Immortal's history begins in 1989 as the death metal band Amputation.
