A Perfect Circle
Biography
A Perfect Circle came together in Los Angeles in 1999, driven by guitarist Billy Howerdel and singer Maynard James Keenan, also known for his work in Tool. The American band offers an alternative rock touched by metal, more atmospheric and melodic than its singer's usual repertoire. The debut album, Mer de Noms (2000), met with wide success and established an elegant sonic signature, carried by careful arrangements and introspective lyrics. Thirteenth Step (2003) confirmed that identity and notably addressed the theme of addiction. After a long interruption, the group returned with Eat the Elephant (2018). A Perfect Circle holds a distinctive place in the rock landscape, poised between restrained intensity and refinement, and remains a project shaped by its two central figures.
