311
Biography
311 is an American rock band formed in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1988, around singer and guitarist Nick Hexum and vocalist SA Martinez. The group stands out for a distinctive mix of rock, reggae, funk and rap, carried by summery moods and a dual vocal approach. After early releases on independent labels, the band found wide success in 1995 with its self titled album, often nicknamed the blue album, which included the tracks Down and All Mixed Up. Transistor, in 1997, continued that momentum, while the hit Amber later became one of their most beloved songs. Active for more than three decades, 311 has kept a very loyal community of fans.
