A British duo formed by Sam Matlock and Milkie Way, Wargasm made good in 2023 with Venom on the promise of their incendiary singles. The debut blends nu metal, electro-punk and heavy industrial beats with an openly worn pop sense of hook and a deliberately provocative attitude. The two voices trade off and stack up, carried by a glossy, wilfully excessive production.

Venom works like a shot of adrenaline, built for the stage and the feeds, even at the cost of favouring immediate impact over depth. Some tracks land hard and stick, others lean a little too heavily on the pose. What remains is a cheeky, generational debut that captures the hybrid energy of a British scene in full flux.
