Paint It Black

Biography

Paint It Black is an American hardcore punk band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The group was formed in 2002 by Dan Yemin, Dave Hause, Andy Nelson and David Wagenschutz, in order to reinterpret classics of hardcore punk such as Gorilla Biscuits, Minor Threat and Good Clean Fun in a slightly different way. The members were already part of other hardcore bands. Dan Yemin was the guitarist of Lifetime, then of Kid Dynamite, before moving to vocals. Drummer David Wagenshutz was also a member of Lifetime and Kid Dynamite, as well as Good Riddance. After an EP titled Demo in 2002, the group's first studio album, CVA, was released the following year, in 2003, on Jade Tree Records label.
