Old Man Gloom
Biography
Old Man Gloom is an American extreme metal band from Santa Fe, New Mexico, now based in Massachusetts. The band, formed by Aaron Turner of Isis and Santos Montano, developed into a kind of supergroup of the Boston punk hardcore and metalcore scene. In 2001, one year after the release of their first album Meditations in B, the band released two albums simultaneously: Seminar II and Seminar III. For these recordings, Luke Scarola joined in using elements of electronic music. On Seminar II, Stephen Brodsky of Cave In wrote the lyrics for one song, and Jay Randall of Agoraphobic Nosebleed contributed to the electronics. On August 24, 2004, the album Christmas was released. Old Man Gloom abruptly ended a period of silence lasting eight years by announcing that they would resume touring and release a new album titled No in 2012.
