Crematory
Biography
Crematory is a German gothic metal band from Westhofen. They began their career as a death metal group and quickly evolved toward a gothic style while retaining certain specific doom-death elements. Crematory was formed in 1991 in Westhofen. The band achieved its first successes in the mid-1990s, touring with My Dying Bride, Tiamat and Atrocity. Like these bands, the group initially played death metal, then evolved toward a more atmospheric gothic doom death metal style. Starting with the album Act Seven, released in 1999, they gradually shifted toward a more electronic, ambient and industrial style, a touch that increasingly took up more space in their music.
