Comadre

Biography

Comadre is an American screamo band from Redwood City, a suburb of San Francisco, California. It is composed of former members of Heartcrosslove, One's Own Ruin, What Life Makes Us, and Light this City. After playing a few shows and releasing a three-song demo titled Coffin in March, the band changed its name to Comadre in autumn 2004. Originally meaning godmother, Comadre can be used by extension to designate a close family friend with whom there is no blood relation but who matters just as much. This is how the band members consider one another. Comadre was formed from the ashes of two bands, One's Own Ruin and Heart Cross Love.
