40 Below Summer

Biography

40 Below Summer is an American nu metal band from New Jersey, active mainly in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Its music fits the codes of the genre of the era: heavy guitar riffs, driving rhythms and vocals that alternate melodies with more aggressive parts. The band made a name for itself on the American alternative rock scene and toured during the great nu metal wave, a period when the style enjoyed strong popularity. Its lyrics often explore personal and emotional themes. Less well known than the movement's headliners, 40 Below Summer remains representative of that generation of bands that emerged in the wake of nu metal's success across the Atlantic.
