The press bows: 85/100 across eight reviews, Kerrang! and Angry Metal Guy both at full marks, the latter swearing the album « goes toe-to-toe with their best work (and in some ways surpasses them) ».
The consensus hangs on the frontman: a « potent and acidic » Tompa to the very end, the Björler harmonies restored, Jens Bogren’s production, and « Det oerhörda », the band’s first song entirely in Swedish. AMG hears « fire and rage from beginning to glorious end » — and stands by its score against any suspicion of posthumous indulgence.
