Zakk Wylde
Biography
Jeffrey Phillip Wielandt, professionally known as Zakk Wylde, was born on January 14, 1967 in Bayonne, New Jersey, and is an American guitarist. Guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne from 1988 to 1995 and from 2001 to 2009, he is recognizable for his fast playing and his 'pinch harmonics.' Guitarist and singer of his own heavy metal band, Black Label Society, he continued to play in parallel with Ozzy Osbourne for 15 years. Wylde left Ozzy Osbourne in the summer of 2009, when Osbourne decided to hire Gus G. in his place. A figure in American heavy metal and principal composer of No More Tears, Ozzy Osbourne's best-selling album, Wylde has been, in recent years, responsible for Osbourne's current sound. He was honored in 2006 with his induction into Hollywood's RockWalk of Fame, alongside other great names in music.
