Second album for Sweden’s Allt, and a more contrasted file than it looks: 75/100 on the critics’ side (Blabbermouth 8/10, Distorted Sound 7/10), but a distinctly colder public at 58/100. Blabbermouth doesn’t hesitate though: « one of the stronger heavy releases you’ll hear this year », recommended to « fans of modern metalcore that values both muscle and heart, think ERRA and Spiritbox ».
What both reviews share: the sense of breathing room. « The band knows when to pull back, let a melody breathe or leave space for a song to build naturally », writes Blabbermouth, singling out « New Day », the very heavy « Nevermind » and a title track all contained tension. Distorted Sound delivers the compliment of the summer for « Enemy »: « one of the metalcore bangers of the year without a doubt ».
Where it sticks: consistency. Distorted Sound hears « a band that is still experimenting, and still trying to find their own unique identity », with uneven choruses and occasionally forced transitions — and the 58/100 user score suggests many listeners mostly heard the ERRA/Spiritbox recipe without the extra soul.
